Starting in Occultism - Three Card Spread
A volunteer wanted to see if taking up Western Occultism practices would meet disapproval from other family members.
First Card Turned Over: Ace of Pentacles
Very favorable. The aces in tarot are some of the best that can ever be turned over for a question. They represent The One, Unity and New Energy that will be auspicious. Particularly indicated is the material plane , the plane humans are on.

Card Turned over: Queen of Cups
Sri Arya says this card signifies the potential for deep spiritual transformation. Also indicative of health and healing. Empathy and kindness. My take: well aspected for taking up spiritual practices. Taking up these practices will be healing for the volunteer. There may be initial pushback from a family member but the potential for understanding is there as well.

Sri Arya says 6-7 years of field testing has taught him and his disciples the bottom of the deck card is good to include no matter what other spread is used. The bottom of the deck card will be especially enlightening to the question asked.
Bottom of deck card: The Devil
Card that indicates feeling trapped or worried about outside forces hemming one in. However, in many cases the trap is an illusion. There may be pushback from other family members but for reasons detailed below I think overall the volunteer will prevail.
Sri Arya writes:
"Acknowledgement that one has aspects of character which may not be admirable, and dealing with them. This could be the start of a genuine psychological and spiritual breakthrough, for when you are not trying to be perfect, you may become genuinely good. The Devil is the prince of the world, so this is a very good card for business, property and success, though what you do with that is up to you. It also indicates that marriages will be sensual and enduring, though whether that will be spiritually appropriate is another matter. Capacity for hard work and sacrifice for purely material gains. In Goethe's Faust, the Devil is described as, A portion of the infinite power, which seeks to accomplish the good, by doing evil."
It is a paradox but such attitudes are needed when you come under attack and are confronted with less than admirable characters. Ability to accumulate money, but it may degenerate into lust for lucre. 'Devilish charm' is not an empty phrase. Ability to coin powerful and seductive turns of phrase; turning matters around with suave and smooth words." - p. 109

My take: since The Devil card also indicates finesse with speech if any family member does get upset with any occult practice (which because of the card turned over I do think may happen) then using finesse in presenting one's case is well aspected in helping smooth things over.
Ultimately I think this spread, overall, is showing it's a good idea to take western occult practices up and while there may be some pushback from family members the card turned over says volunteer has skills that can be tapped to turn things more favorable to their position again.
