Sadhguru:

Existence is like this:

There is something called as sthoola, sookshma, shoonya, shiva. Sthoola means the gross existence. Physicality (taps thighs) is sthoola. Everything that you can see, everything that you can sense through the 5 sense organs - everything that you can see, smell, taste, hear and touch is considered sthoola. This can be analyzed with your intellect and understood and grasped and this is always made of - as we know today - of (pronunciation unclear to me, apologies)* or atoms because it's physical in nature. It's a complete building block of existence is an atom and if it's made of an atom, once enough number of atoms are there we can touch it. We can smell it, we taste it, we can see it if it becomes big enough. Initially with a microscope, after that with our bare eyes we could see it.

But if it goes beyond the perception of the 5 senses but still it is physical in nature we call it sookshma. So when you enter into sookshma it is still physical but you are not able to grasp it. Do what you want you cannot grasp it through physic...(stops)....through 5 senses nor can you analyze it through your intellect. That dimension - if you approach it we call it vishay vigñān (alt pronunciation vishaya vijñāna/alt spelling can be visaya vijñāna) - that means an extraordinary knowledge.

Sadhguru continues:

So vishay vigñān is referred to as vigñān. The word vijñān is being very loosely used today but essentially it means this - those dimensions which cannot be perceived through 5 senses - if you perceive them - that is vijñān.

So today science is entering those spaces because never ever is anybody going to see a Higgs-Boson. They're only going to see its footprint. Even now they only saw the footprint. They did not see a Higgs-Boson. But because they see the footprint they believe he's there (Sadhguru smiles and nods yes).

Somebody's gone by - they left the footprints - we've not seen the man but we know it's gone by. We go into the forest we see the paw marks and we say, "Okay, there is a tiger." We haven't seen the tiger. In fact, in a tropical forest it's very difficult to see a tiger but we will see paw marks here and there. Just like that they saw the footprint so they're entering vishay vigñān.

If you go further it will become Shoonya (alt spellings: Sunya/Shunya). That means absolute emptiness. There - your Intellect will be completely useless. Your senses will become completely useless because there is no physicality. Where there is no physicality your sense organs and intellect will become absolutely redundant.

If you go beyond Shoonya there is something that we refer to as Shi-va. (Sadhguru literally pronounces it as 2 separate syllables for emphasis.) When I say Shiva don't imagine that Calendar Man - some shivakashi. Shi-Va means 'that which is not'. If you touch that which is not we have always seen it is not physical in nature. It is not physical in nature means it does not exist but it is opaque. How can that be? It is not in the realm of your logical mind.

Today modern science believes the whole existence has to oblige to human logic which is a very limited way of approaching life. The whole existence will not oblige to human logic. You think you can fit the whole existence into your head? No, no. Your head fits into the existence. The existence will not fit into your head. Your logic can analyze the physicality of the existence. Once you cross the physical dimension your logic is completely out of its realm.

Commentary:

All the teachers I follow say mantras are based on Sanskrit as one way* of speaking certain atomic vibrations. Kind of like how Joybubbles - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joybubbles - the godfather of phone phreaking - could 'speak' the correct tones into any landline phone on the planet and make calls around the world for free (much to the annoyance of his phone company). That is the power of correct at the atomic level Sanskrit pronunciation of mantras. You're 'hacking' the vibratory, sookshma vishay vigñān realm of atoms like Joybubbles did with phones. Yes, that's what he was doing - speaking flawlessly a mantra for phone-dialing.

That's why there are tons of mantras that have no meaning at all. They aren't meant to. They're meant to turn you into an atomic Phreaker like Joybubbles except for whatever it is that mantra pronunciation is targeting mastery of. Yes, this is likely the pop culture source - dimly remembered - of sorcerers (ie yogis/yoginis or monks/nuns) who've mastered speaking ('phreaking') a traditional 'spell' (ie mantra) from a 'grimoire' (ie 'grammar') of all kinds of atomic vibration permutations for all different kinds of situations or things one might want to accomplish simply via use of one's own vocal chords - like, say, dialing to anywhere in the world for free on the phone company's dime. This is an entire branch of yoga all by itself that can be mastered just like practicing daily the piano to get to concert-hall recital level. Ever wonder why monks and nuns might not find monastery/convent life boring? Constant daily training in yogic disciplines like this might be one reason why. :)
