I'm posting a link to an interesting essay by Sadhguru on this topic.
https://isha.sadhguru.org/us/en/wisdom/article/what-is-consciousness
Some fundamental myths the majority of the world defines as consciousness is not considered actual consciousness in yogic traditions.
Myth #1: Wakefulness Is Not Consciousness
Myth #2: Self-consciousness Is Not Consciousness
Myth #3: Consciousness Cannot Be “Done” (ie It is not something that you can do or not do at a particular time.)
Myth #4: Consciousness Is Not Alertness
Myth #5: Consciousness Is Not a Mental Understanding
Myth #6: Anesthesia Has Nothing to Do with Consciousness
Please read the entire linked article to better understand what consciousness is. If one goes by what yogis and yoginis consider actual consciousness there is nobody posting at JMG's various blogs who qualifies! Right now the various posters are beings who only show the potential to someday actually be conscious! According to the yogic tradition of consciousness I don't qualify as being conscious!
Gurdjieff constantly used to talk about how most humans are just sleep-walking machines. He said this because he was talking about ordinary humans vs humans who were finally conscious. According to yogic traditions he was more than a little bit correct. Humans have no idea of their own potential just waiting to be unleashed.
